How this site makes money

What affiliate links are

Most product links on Preheat Club are affiliate links, primarily to Amazon through the Amazon Associates program. When you follow one and buy something, Amazon pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay is exactly the same as it would be otherwise — the commission comes out of Amazon's margin, not your pocket. Our buy links are marked with #ad and route through a redirect so we can measure which pages are useful.

What it does and does not buy

Being blunt about this is the whole point of the page:

• It never changes a verdict. Our ranking is our honest read of the specs, materials, running cost and value. When the cheaper machine is the better buy, we say so and link to it — even though a pricier one would pay us more.
• We accept no sponsored placements. A brand cannot pay to appear, to rank higher, or to remove a criticism. There is no such thing as a paid spot on this site.
• We accept no free products in exchange for coverage.We don't run a test lab and we don't take review units — which is also why we never claim hands-on testing we didn't do.

How prices work

Every price is pulled live from Amazon and stamped with the date it was fetched. If our data is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears and the button falls back to "Check price on Amazon" — we'd rather show no number than a stale one. Prices and availability change constantly, and Amazon's price at checkout is always the one that counts.

Other retailers and programs

Amazon is our default retailer. If we ever add a link to another retailer through a different affiliate program, it follows the same rules — buyer-first, disclosed, and never allowed to change a verdict. Where a link doesn't earn us anything, we don't pretend it does.
